Southern Alberta Skating Academy will be taking every precaution to keep our skaters, coaches and volunteers safe during our Winter 2023 programs.

Description of Levels:
Academy – Passed any 2 of the Star 5 tests
Combined Academy – Passed Star 2 Freeskate
Junior Academy – Working on Star 1 – Star 5

Winter SESSIONS

JUNIOR ACADEMY

Our Junior Academy sessions are open to STARSkate figure skaters at the Star 1 to Star 5 level (working on single jumps up to the Axel). These sessions typically have some group lesson time (stroking, edges, spins, etc.) as well as training time for skaters to practice or arrange private lessons.

Wednesday Junior Academy (4:15-5:15pm) – Henderson Arena (12 Weeks)
1 hour of ice time including 1 hour of group lesson coaching included

January 11 – March 29

*** This program runs simultaneously with the Combined Academy session

Cost = $240- Registration

Thursday Junior Academy (4:15-5:15pm) – Nicolas Sheran Arena (12 Weeks)
1 hour of ice time including 1 hour of group lesson coaching included

January 12 – March 30

*** This program runs simultaneously with the Combined Academy session

Cost = $240 – Registration

Friday Junior Academy (1:45-2:45pm) – Henderson Arena (10 Weeks)
1 hour of ice time including 30 minutes of group lesson coaching included

January 13 – March 24

Cost = $190 – Registration

COMBINED ACADEMY

Our Combined Academy sessions are open to both STARSkate and CompetitiveSkate figure skaters at the Star 2 or higher level (working on single, double and/or triple jumps). These sessions typically have some group lesson time (stroking, edges, spins, etc.) as well as training time for skaters to practice or arrange private lessons.

Sunday Combined Academy (9:00-10:00am) – Civic Ice Centre  (10 Weeks)
1 hour of ice time

January 15 – March 26 (no skating February 19)

Cost = $150 – Registration

Monday Combined Academy (4:30-5:30pm) – Civic Ice Centre (11 Weeks)
1 hour of ice time

January 9 – March 27 (no skating February 20)

Cost = $165 – Registration

Wednesday Combined Academy (4:15-5:15pm) – Henderson Arena (12 Weeks)
1 hour of ice time

January 11 – March 29
